A small companion with serious boundaries.
Otter notices the moment a secret appears, then lets you decide what happens next.
The key you only see once
When a site reveals a new API key, or you copy one in a terminal, Otter offers to keep it. Checked on your machine, against formats from OpenAI, Anthropic, Vercel, Cloudflare, Supabase, GitHub and more.
Encrypted on your device
AES-256-GCM, with the key derived from your passphrase using 600,000 rounds of PBKDF2. No servers, no accounts, no analytics. Copying asks for the passphrase again, and the clipboard clears itself.
Close, not in the way
The Mac app lives in your menu bar, and the otter can follow your pointer across the screen. Click-through, so it never gets between you and your work.
Tested in the open
86 tests, seeded fuzzing, cryptographic known-answer checks, and a weekly lab that runs 12 provider consoles end to end. The threat model is public.

Otter is in the Chrome Web Store.
Install it, create a vault with a passphrase only you know, and the otter will watch for the next key you create. The macOS menu bar app follows soon; leave your email and I will tell you the day it lands.
Add to Chrome — freeFree, no account, and nothing leaves your device.
